Tribe Locals rewards
Tribe Locals is run by Tribe Bikes Pty Ltd (ABN 33 640 644 757), Unit 4 / 18 Accolade Avenue, Morisset NSW 2264. These are the rules for the points side of it. We have tried to write them so you can actually read them.
The short version
One point is one dollar. You earn points for helping people who are thinking about a cargo bike, and you spend them as Tribe store credit or as gift cards. Points do not expire while you are part of the program. If you leave, you have 60 days to spend what you have.
What earns points
| What you do | What it pays | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Answer someone’s question | $10 | 10 a month |
| Meet someone to show them your bike | $100 | 4 a month |
| Someone buys a Tribe bike with your code | bonus points | no limit |
Question points are paid on your first reply, once per conversation. Meeting points are paid when the person you met confirms it by text; if they do not answer we check it ourselves rather than assuming either way. Sale bonus points are paid once for an order that includes a Tribe bike and your code. A conversation or a meeting on its own does not earn the sale bonus, so give your code to anyone you think might buy. The amount is set by Tribe and shown on your statement.
Your discount code
Every Local on the map has their own code worth $50 off a Tribe bike, to give to anyone at all. They do not need to have messaged you here. It comes off bikes only, not accessories, and once per order. When a bike is bought with your code, that is how we know it was you.
Please share it with people rather than posting it on coupon or deal websites. We can change the amount, and a code stops working if you leave the program.
Locals returning from the old program get a welcome back bonus. It shows on your statement straight away and becomes yours to spend once you have been part of the program for two months in a row. Pausing does not interrupt that; leaving before then cancels it.
We can change these amounts. If a change reduces what you earn we will tell you before it starts, and it will not affect points you have already earned.
What does not earn points
- Messaging yourself, or arranging for friends and family to message you.
- Conversations or meetings that did not really happen.
- Buying a bike for yourself. Your code still takes the discount off, but it does not pay you a sale bonus.
- An order with no bike in it. The sale bonus is for bikes, not accessories.
- A sale where your code was not used, even if you talked to or met the buyer.
- An order that is later cancelled or refunded. If we have already paid sale points on it, we reverse them, and your statement shows both entries.
- More than the monthly limits above.
Spending your points
You can ask to redeem once you have 50 points. Two choices:
- Tribe store credit at one dollar per point. It arrives as a coupon code. It works on a single order: anything you do not spend on that order is not carried over, so redeem what you plan to spend at once.
- Gift cards at $0.75 per point, spendable outside Tribe.
When you apply, those points are held aside straight away so they cannot be spent twice. We approve redemptions by hand, usually within a few days. If we cannot put one through, the points go back and we tell you why.
Points are not cash, cannot be transferred to someone else, and cannot be paid out as money.
If you leave the program
Points do not expire while you are a Local. Pausing your profile changes nothing: you keep everything and can still redeem.
If you leave, or we end your place in the program, you have 60 days to spend what you have. We email you when there are about 14 days left. After that the balance is closed off, and your statement shows when and why.
If we find someone has been claiming for conversations or meetings that did not happen, we may close off their points immediately. That is a decision a person makes with a reason recorded, not something automatic, and you can reply to the email and argue with it.
Ending the program
If we wind Tribe Locals up, we will give you at least 60 days’ notice and you can spend your points in that time.
